The documentary film follows the life and work of Rosa Young, an African American woman who became an educator and missionary for the Lutheran church in the American South. With a passion for helping others, educating children and sharing the Gospel, she was instrumental in founding and promoting 30 Lutheran elementary schools and 35 Lutheran congregations in Alabama’s “Black Belt.”

There will be a reception with refreshments prior to the film screening and a Q&A with Reverend Donald Anthony and Mrs. Vernie King. Mrs. King met and worked with Rosa Young in Alabama during her mission work.
